Paramedic:
KB Ambulance Corps, Inc. is accepting applications for a full time Paramedic. Located in the town of Killingly, CT, KB Ambulance is a non-profit organization that provides 911 Ambulance transport services at both the ALS and BLS levels, as well as ALS intercept services to 9 towns in the Northeast corner of CT. We also provide Critical Care Transport and Non-Emergency Transport services for our local hospital.
Summary:
We are seeking a polite, compassionate, CT licensed Paramedic for a 40 hour position. The ideal candidate will be expected to deliver high quality patient care following state guidelines in a variety of emergency settings. Preference given to candidates with ALS experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility
• Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training, and other related requirements
• Attends continuing education programs pertinent to his/her area of practice
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by KB Ambulance
• Maintains adequate supplies and equipment on board vehicle to deliver patient care and maintain compliance
• Keeps assigned vehicle clean and orderly
• Maintains positive interpersonal relationships and works collaboratively with colleagues, EMRs, EMTs, other Paramedics, Registered Nurses, other healthcare staff and the public
• Completes all required documentation
• Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment
• Serves as role model, educator and clinical resource to other staff
• Participates in departmental quality improvement activities as assigned
• Maintaining a clean and complete uniform, personal hygiene, and professional, pleasant and polite demeanor to all persons with whom the individual comes in contact with while on duty
• Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be able to communicate and understand English verbally and in writing
• Must demonstrate the physical and clinical ability to perform all tasks and duties required of a paramedic
Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid Driver’s License
• CPR (AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider or ARC CPR for Professional Rescuers)
• Current and valid CT EMT Paramedic License
• Current ACLS, PALS and PHTLS certification
